Adventures of the Little Bean

Teething. Toofing, teefer toofers.

Kai is about to get some teeth!  She’s been sucking ice cubes, gnawing on toys, rubbing her tooth nubs  with her tongue and complaining loudly about the pain.  She’s also rolling over really well now, able to spin on her belly, and pushing up onto (almost) her arms and legs.  I bet she’ll be crawling soon.

This is amazing to watch, but at the same time it makes me a bit wistful – she’s growing up so quickly!

Mmmm. Ribbons.

I somehow got into this position...but I don't know what to do.

Luckily, there are some things that will take her mind off of her gums…like swimming.  She loves the water, and goes to the pool or a friend’s wading pool a couple times a week.  She like to flirt with lifeguards, and loves to splash.  She also likes it when I throw blocks in the air and drop them while saying Ooops!

I love water!

Sleep is still a tough issue for us.  Kai likes to eat every 1.5 hours or so at night so Mrs Bean doesn’t get to sleep very soundly.  Kai would also prefer to be on the boob the whole night, and complains when she’s taken off.  Me, I hear most of this, but I’m developing the ability to not wake up all the way when it happens.  Mrs Bean and I are generally a bit tired, her more so than me.  Kai, on the other hand, wakes up smiling.  Even with a 5 minute power nap.  Sigh.

  1. She is outrageously cute. Good luck with the teething, and I really hope she starts sleeping longer SOON!

  2. Splash!! What bathing beauty. Sorry about the sleep and what may be reverse cycle nursing. Hope that lets up soon!

  3. Kai you are so adorably cute which is good because you are really keeping Mrs Bean up. That is a lot of night time snacking you do.
