Clap clap

with one comment

Today, Kai figured out to clap with her hands open.  Her little hands make a tiny little clapping sound, and it thrills her so much she laughs every time she claps.  Last week, she was knocking her hands together, but hadn’t figured out how to make noise with her hands.  She’s so thrilled with her new skill that she loves showing off – she’ll clap for you if you just say “clap clap clap!”   She’ll also clap to her favorite songs.  It’s SO cute.

Kai is also getting comfortable with cruising across sofas and shelves.  She’s also getting really good at making a run for bins and bags and  emptying them when we’re not looking (and even when we are).

Language-wise, she’s starting to use the milk gesture (baby sign language) after having recognized it for awhile.  We’re teaching her “more” now.  She’s gained some warbly-ness to her voice – she’ll exclaim “oOOOoooOOOoooo!!!” and will often engage in conversations with the Kai-sized stuffed animals we have.  It’s amazing to watch all this happen!  There is so much happening in her little head!
