Grunt grunt grunt…

with 3 comments

This morning as I was brushing my teeth, I heard a series of little grunts from the kitchen.  I thought that perhaps Kai was struggling with her water bottle – she’d just figured out that she could open and close the spout with some effort – so I didn’t look into the kitchen.  A moment later, Mrs Bean calls out to me in a slightly ominous tone: “Come here…”

Turns out that Kai was grunting with effort, climbing onto the chair right by the kitchen table.  You know what this means?  We are not safe anymore.  No more laptops left on or near the sofa.  No more food or mail on the kitchen table.  No more knives by the edge of the counter (the chair is easy to push).  No more leaving her out of sight.

So.  Are we allowed to lay super-strong velcro down on the floor and have her wear velcro clothes?

Things found in our bed recently

Kai loves our bed.  It’s a king-sized futon on the floor – perfect for running towards and jumping on. She loves hanging out on our bed, walking in circles and tumbling. She’s often carrying something around when she’s running around the house – things we’ve found in our bed recently:

  • a hard rubber ball (under Mrs Bean’s pillow)
  • stickers on the pillow, on our blankets, on the bed
  • fabric from Mrs Bean’s sewing room upstairs
  • penny whistle (I never knew that one could play 2 octaves on these things)
  • bottles, cups
  • Monkey, Bunny, Bear
Hmm.  What else?
